Purpose

This policy sets out the standard of dress and grooming expected of employees, so that everyone presents a professional and consistent image to customers, partners, and colleagues. As a financial services organisation, the way we present ourselves reflects the trust our customers place in us.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees, including full time employees, employees on probation, trainees, and contractual staff, across all offices and branches.

General Guidelines

Employees are expected to be dressed in a clean, well groomed, and professional manner during working hours. Attire should be appropriate to the role, the location, and any customer or external interaction planned for the day.

Business Formal

Business formal attire is expected on days with customer meetings, external visitors, audits, or leadership reviews.

For men: formal full sleeve shirts, formal trousers, formal shoes, and where required a tie or blazer.

For women: formal shirts or blouses with formal trousers, formal skirts of appropriate length, or formal Indian wear such as sarees or salwar suits, with formal footwear.

Business Casual

On regular working days without external interaction, business casual attire is acceptable.

For men: collared shirts or polo shirts, chinos or formal trousers, and closed shoes.

For women: smart tops with trousers, or formal Indian wear, with closed or formal footwear.

Casual Fridays

Employees may dress in smart casuals on Fridays, subject to any team specific requirements. Smart casuals should still be neat and presentable. Denims that are clean and without tears are permitted on Fridays.

What is not permitted

The following are not considered appropriate for the workplace on any working day: shorts, three fourth trousers, sleeveless or spaghetti tops, tank tops, torn or heavily distressed denims, slippers or flip flops, sportswear and gym wear, and any clothing with offensive or political slogans or graphics.

Grooming and hygiene

Employees are expected to maintain personal hygiene and grooming. Identity cards must be worn and kept visible at all times within office premises.

Special situations

On days declared as ethnic days or theme days by the organisation, employees may dress accordingly. Employees with a medical or religious requirement that affects their attire may reach out to the HR helpdesk for reasonable accommodation.

Non compliance

Repeated non compliance with the dress code may be addressed by the reporting manager or HR. In persistent cases it may be treated under the Disciplinary Action Policy.

For any clarification on this policy, employees may contact the HR helpdesk.
